Role Objective

To support the business in navigating and complying with evolving regulatory frameworks, contractual obligations, and risk requirements. The role is central to ensuring regulatory alignment, managing compliance risk, and supporting business functions as a trusted advisor and enabler.


Key Responsibilities

1. Business Compliance & Regulatory Support

  • Advise business units on compliance implications of new projects and proposals.

  • Disseminate and interpret regulatory updates across departments.

  • Drive timely implementation of new regulations and compliance controls.

  • Conduct compliance reviews (planned and ad hoc) and manage risk registers.

  • Liaise with regulators and assist in shaping policies favorable to the business model.

2. Stakeholder Management

  • Offer practical, compliant solutions to business teams while managing risk appetite.

  • Present clear dashboards and compliance reports to management and shareholders.

  • Act as a bridge between regulatory expectations and operational objectives.

3. Leadership & Team Collaboration

  • Promote a culture of compliance across functions.

  • Mentor team members and drive internal engagement and capability-building initiatives.

  • Contribute to succession planning through development and delegation.

4. Operational Excellence & Control

  • Streamline compliance processes using automation and system-led tracking.

  • Conduct risk-based assessments and audits across functions with regulatory touchpoints.

  • Maintain robust monitoring frameworks and ensure issue resolution and documentation.



Requirements

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree / Postgraduate degree

  • 10 plus years of experience in LI compliance

  • Team handling experience

Skill Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of IRDAI regulations and life insurance compliance frameworks

  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail

  • Effective communication and regulatory reporting skills

  • Ability to assess, manage, and mitigate compliance risks

  • Proficiency in compliance tools and regulatory tracking systems

  • Strong interpersonal skills for coordination across actuarial, product, operations, and legal functions
