Oversee and manage all aspects of corporate compliance, ensuring that business operations and practices align with legal standards and industry regulations, specifically within the construction sector. 


Role holder will play a crucial role in maintaining the company’s reputation by implementing comprehensive compliance programs and fostering a culture of compliance throughout the organisation.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain an effective compliance program tailored to the unique needs and challenges of the construction / infrastructure industry
  • Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure adherence to all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Update and enhance compliance policies and procedures to mitigate risks and align with changing laws and regulatory requirements.
  • Train and educate employees on compliance guidelines, laws, and best practices, ensuring a well-informed workforce.
  • Collaborate with various departments to establish controls and procedures that address compliance issues effectively.
  • Manage and oversee the resolution of compliance issues as they arise, providing guidance and direction to ensure proper handling and documentation.
  • Prepare and present compliance reports to senior management, highlighting risks, compliance breaches, and the status of ongoing compliance initiatives.
  • Stay abreast of new laws and regulations in the construction industry that may impact the company, and advise management on compliance strategy.
  • Liaise with external regulators and advisors, such as lawyers and auditors, to ensure that the company remains in compliance with external requirements.
  • Handle any legal implications of non-compliance and coordinate with the legal department to address potential legal actions.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced compliance certifications preferred.
  • Proven experience (typically 3-5 years) in a compliance role within the construction / infrastructure industries.
  • Thorough understanding of the construction sector’s regulatory environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail with the ability to identify risks and required improvements in compliance processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of educating and influencing staff and management regarding compliance.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop compliance strategies and effectively implement them across a large organisation.
  • Proficient in the use of compliance management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
