We are looking for a Senior Project Manager to join our team to lead complex end to end projects. You will be leading a team consisting of business analysts, architects, designers, testers and business teams to land change. You will also need to engage and work with multiple value stream teams across Core Banking CIO and other CIO areas across Nationwide to deliver changes that are needed.
The successful applicant will initially be leading the project that is moving our ISA Policing capability from Unisys onto the SAP platform. This is a high-profile project and the delivery of this project is critical for Nationwide to be able to decommission the Unisys platform. After that there will be options to continue to work on other complex ISA deliveries or leading end to end projects across the wider Core Banking CIO portfolio.
We are happy to consider flexible working approaches to help you perform at your best.
At Nationwide, we offer hybrid working wherever possible. More rewarding relationships are supported through our hybrid approach, bringing colleagues together across our UK-wide estate, whilst also supporting generous access to home working. We value our time in the office to solve problems, to learn, and to feel connected.
For this job, you'll be assigned to our nearest regional hub. There will be a need to regularly connect with colleagues for collaboration events in one of our office sites. This is anticipated to be monthly in Swindon. If your application is successful, your hiring manager will provide further details on how this works.
Nationwide is committed to the redeployment of our employees impacted by change, as such applications for redeployment candidates will be prioritised in this recruitment process.
If you’re a colleague on long-term absence (for example, on parental leave) or a temporary worker, please use your personal email address to submit an application
What you’ll be doing
Each day is yours to shape, prioritising activities to maintain focus on delivery and unblocking challenges. You’ll spend time initiating changes, ensuring scope, roles and responsibilities are clearly defined, driving out project plans, reviewing progress against milestones, managing risks and dependencies, and engaging with stakeholders across Nationwide and third parties.
Jira is used to track tasks, monitor progress, and ensure transparency across the delivery team. The pace is fast, but the work is purposeful—every decision contributes to improving how members experience our services as well as growing and simplifying the business through integration initiatives. You’ll feel empowered to lead, but also accountable for outcomes that matter.
